Our story

A new restaurant with an old soul.

Lou Amari’s was created around a simple idea: the best neighborhood restaurants become part of your life.

Since 2024

They’re where you take your parents, meet friends at the bar, celebrate a birthday, bring a client and order the same dish you’ve been thinking about all week.

We opened Lou Amari’s in Chicago in 2024, but the inspiration goes back much further—to Italian-American dining rooms where the lights were low, the portions were generous, the bartender remembered your drink and nobody rushed you through dinner.

Our kitchen makes the classics from scratch: slow-cooked Sunday gravy, hand-rolled meatballs, fresh pasta, chicken parmigiana, lasagna, tiramisu and the dishes that have earned a permanent place on Italian-American tables.

The room

The room follows the same philosophy as the kitchen. Old photographs. Good wine. Warm light. Nothing designed to impress you for five minutes and disappear a year later.
